Last year I attended Mountain Middle School. It was the very first year, so everything was kind of chaotic. SLC's were the one chance to prove to my parents that I really was learning and enjoying school at the same time. It made me more open with my parents and gave me another opportunity to talk to them about school. This year at Animas student led conferences are lot more refined and they give me another chance to show responsibility in my schoolwork. Since last year it has been a lot easier to talk to my parents about anything, but student led conferences give me a chance to own up to any problems I have or have created. I am normally a straight A student, and student led conferences give me that chance to show my parents with evidence and as an adult. Because I learned last year what to do, this years preparation was relatively easy. I kept everything that I have worked on and was prepared with little effort. Student led conferences have improved both my relationship with my parents and my motivation to work hard in school.
